German Standard was founded in 1993 to import the highest quality luxury wooden flooring to Thailand. We did so because while we knew there were many high-end housing, villa and condominium developments in the country, we felt buyers were being let down by lackluster flooring materials which were being installed in some of the most expensive properties.
Ever since then, we have applied our German obsession with product quality and design standards to everything we do, and have expanded our offering to include luxury kitchens, luxury bedrooms and customization services.

Armin Michel
President
Having spent more than a decade working as an investment banker in New York and Tokyo, Armin Michel decided to leave the world of finance and follow his entrepreneurial spirit by setting up German Standard in 1993.
He remains deeply involved in the business' day-to-day operations where his focus is on client relationship management.
Armin is a graduate of Sasin Business School's Executive MBA programme.
He spends his free time following his passions for travel, martial arts and football.

Managing Director
Wanna is a graduate of Sasin Business School’s Executive MBA programme and a trained accountant. Before joining German Standard more than a decade and a half ago, she gained experience in the construction and decorating sector while working with her family’s business.
Wanna enjoys a reputation within the trade as a highly respected, seasoned professional with deep expertise in sourcing, producing and installing luxury wooden flooring.
A perfectionist at heart, she champions German Standard’s commitment to upholding the highest levels of customer service and product quality as she develops the business across Southeast Asia and beyond.
